Where can I begin? Every time I come back, I'm reminded of why I absolutely love this place. From the initial welcome by Chris (by your name) at the hostess stand, to your farewell from your waiter, it is always a perfect experience. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He quickly brought out our drinks and crabtini appetizer, which we split. It was delicious. Next, he brought out our salads and soup- both the Caesar and lobster bisque were great. Next, our sizzling filets (500 degree plates!) and yummy sides (creamed spinach and potatoes) arrive. Perfect timing for everything and attentive server. The service is always spot on! I wish others would take note. And of course - the food is absolutely divine. BRAVO Ruth's Chris! Keep up the good work.

Great customer service, i went in and there wasn't a bartender. No deal for me but the manager heard and paid for the beer a drank. Like i said not a big deal but its the little things restaurants do that make me want to go back, as for the steak i had the cowboy ribeye, cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes melted in my mouth.

Ribeye was excellent. Blueberries cheesecake was good also. Parking is not an issue. Service is great.

My visit to Ruth's Chris was nothing short of superb. Our server, Jeff, did an excellent job to make the visit even more special. I ordered the lamb chops and my partner had the filet. I am not the biggest steak indulger, but it was the best we have ever had. It was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection the way we requested. They have an open bar and plenty of wine, champagne, beer, and premium liquor selections. If you are looking for an unbelievable dining experience that is worth the price tag, then I strongly suggest this restaurant. I also appreciate the staff remembering your name and your special occasion. They even surprised my partner with a personalized dessert. We will definitely be back!

They did a Pittsburgh steak for me and did it correctly, so they are all aces in my book. The steak was delicious, the sides rocked and the service was excellent as always. They need to refurbish the restaurant, it's old and shabby looking and in desperate need of a face lift which at their prices should be affordable for them. Valet parking took good care of my car and the restaurant took great care of me and beloved husband. We will definitely be back.

Very attentive waiter, Malcolm. One of the best waiters ever! great filets cooked to a perfection. The sides are so large our waiter recommended splitting them and he was right! The baked potato weighs one pound. The salad was huge even split in half. The taste of the steak was superb! Best steak in Baton Rouge!!!

Lunch was simply delicious. It all began with our excellent servers. The appetizer was crab cake was just the beginning of a tasty meal. First time having turtle soup and it was delish. The filet and rib eye were mouth watering. Tender and juicy. The creamy au gratin potatoes were to die for, the sauteed mushrooms were huge and full of flavor. And to top it off, the wine was scrumptious. It us a place to go to only on super special occasions due to the prices. I spent a weeks salary there for a two people meal. But we'll work it. $200. Wow. But I would do it again.

In general, I am not a Ruth Chris's follower. We chose RC because we wanted a decent coctail and appetizers after a couple of days of ingesting rich southern deliciousness. So we sat at the bar, and ordered the carpaccio, the escargot and some asparagus. All dishes were wonderful as a high scale restaurant should deliver. What we weren't counting on, and would be the 5 STAR qualification for this restaurant would be our server - Emily. IMPRESSIVE young mom, with a can do attitude, southern charm, and can mix MEAN MEAN Coctails! Get her talking spirits, and she is very knowledgeable, impressive, attentive, down to earth and so well rounded. SO, as far a RC's goes - overpriced and over rated - consistent, consistently buttered steaks, not one of my first go to-s, but in Baton Rouge, 5 stars go to Emily!

I eat at Ruth Chris all over the country. This one is good but not great because they stray from the standards that made Ruth Chris' great. Such as: The fries are shoe string-stye not steakhouse fries. This location does not offer the "Classics Menu" which is available at EVERY other Ruth Chris location I've been to. They don't carry the Ruth Chris "house" pinot noir Parducci - which I love. Why not ? Service was good but they need to get with the proven program.

I attended a Christmas party at Ruth Chris this past weekend. The food was excellent . Atmosphere was terrific. Chris and his staff make you feel welcome and appreciated. I have been there countless times in the past. I will return very soon. The special touch of having the owner working tables and greeting everyone made the dining experience over the top. Charlie S.

Despite it being (now) a national chain, this Ruth's is simply fabulous. Amazing steak, always cooked to perfection, with the most scrumptios butter bubbling all over it. It's so simple, and so good. Order with the cheese-covered broccili and die happy. Also, expect to have some of the best service you can remember.
Please be warned.... This is NOT your typical Ruth's Chris. This is a fine dining restaurant with a slightly casual atmosphere. Every single thing was so above par from the greeter, the the waitstaff and even the bus boys and table assistants. The staff was a true team and the kitchen was just as skilled. The 'over the top' descriptions in the food, are spot on. Lobster bisque can match up with the best in this city, and both steaks we got were cooked as requested and melted in your mouth. Been to a few of these steakhouses in the past, but must say, this is the first Ruth's Chris that I will gladly spend another $200 on a good meal.

As a business traveler who travels 20+days a month it's nice to come into town and grab a quick bite. Beware if you are used to other Ruth's you will be disappointed this is a franchised location. So not held to same company standards. I decided to eat in the bar due to not wanting to sit at a table alone which can be a little awkward. Asked the bartender about hh was glared at like I had horns then informed no hh. No biggie ordered a salad and appetizer and glass of wine which for me is more than enough food but quickly left after the one glass. Sorry I watch my own money and the companies. If your from Texas hit up Sullivan's across the way for the food that has been quality in every city. I later called the restaurant to confirm no hh that is where I learned franchised. I will stick to mom and pops or the corp guys not the chillis of steak houses.

Everyone knows Chris's has the best steaks. But how many know they have the best "chicken" in town. My personal choice is the Chris chicken. So moist and tasteful you almost want to pass on the sauce it comes in.....but don't! The holidays are upon us and this is the place you want to be to celebrate.

You can't go wrong at Ruth's Chris Steak House. It has the best "Old Baton Rouge" cozy feel to it. And you won't find a better filet anywhere. My favorite.

Last time I went to Ruths Chris was in NJ almost 10 years ago. I was unimpressed and felt it was a pretentious place overcharging for steak. But this particular one, has redeemed itself. A line of white shirt waiters at your beck and call, thefilet was exquisite and melted without requiring chewing. My son had the Tuna Steak which was about 4 inches thick and again, it melted in our mouth. WONDERFUL experience and attentive staff. My only comment (not a complaint just comment) is for $7.00 i would have liked the broccoli side dish to be more than just steamed broccoli. It was good broccoli, green, fresh, but would have been nice to have some butter herb sauce or something other than plain broccoli.

My review is directed at Ruth Chris as a take out option. I met a friend to dine al fresco and the upscale touches really made our impromptu outdoor feast memorable. I called my order in during the busy lunch hours and was impressed by the cordial greeting and the calm steady manner of the person taking the order. She repeated the order to insure it was correct, gave me a total and when I could expect it to be ready. I arrived a bit early, received a warm greeting by the host who cheerfully ushered me to a group of chairs along the bar to wait for my order. As I sat down he asked me if I needed anything to drink while I waited. The Bartender stopped by with the bill and offered to take care of the check so I could grab my food and go. Very considerate in my opinion, because it means the food temp will stay on point as long as possible. My order arrived hot and nicely packed in a sturdy bag. The host proceeded to pick up the different packages and confirm everything was there and asked if I needed anything else. Great customer service for a small takeout order. The food was excellent. I ordered Chicken Chris, garlic mashed potatoes, Caesar Salad and Lobster Bisque. The Lobster Bisque was creamy and packed with flavor but could have used a bit more lobster bits. The boneless breaded Chicken breast was so tender and flavorful it could have stood alone, but paired with the Lemon Butter sauce it made each bite a rapturous delight for the pallet. The garlic mash and Caesar salad were both well prepared and went well with the Chicken. A hot loaf of bread was included but it took crusty to a whole new level of teeth cracking crusty (overlooked it cause everything else was great). The portions were enough for 2, partly because of the richness, on everything but the bisque. The $10.00 a cup price was a bit high based on the very small portion and lack of lobster bits! I would definitely do this again, but next time we are going to order the Mushrooms stuffed with Crab meat. I saw them go by while I waited and they really looked yummy! I rate this experience a 4 1/2 (Lobster Bits) but YELP doesn't allow that so I am going to round up and recommend you give them a try.

I've been to many Ruth's Chris before tonight. I must say tonight was the best. Great service, as always, and better food than I expected. Is very clear that the staff at this Ruth's Chris take great pride at making all guests feel welcome. Looking forward to coming back for another great dinner.

This is the best steak house is Baton Rouge, by far. We celebrated our anniversary here recently and the food exceeded all expectations. We had bar b q shrimp and veal stuffed ravioli (off menu item). Both were great but do not pass up the bar b q shrimp. The fresh shrimp is placed over mashed potatoes. We both had the filet for our entree; both cooked to perfection- mine was medium rare and my wife's well done. I know the cooks cringed at my wife's order. We split a side of sweet potato casserole. I should have written this review sooner because I have forgotten the server's name. He was great. Always there when we needed him and excellent at suggesting wine. The only thing that could make this better is updating the interior. It is a little outdated.

The first time I dined at this location, I was disappointed to learn the 3-course special mentioned on the website was not offered here. But given that the restaurant was packed compared to the Houston location, there was no reason to offer an incentive for customers to come in. I ordered a filet, whereas my partner ordered a ribeye. He also had the turtle soup and we shared potatoes au gratin. Unfortunately, my filet was cooked unevenly. It was tough, underseasoned, and overcooked. The ribeye was cooked perfectly. My partner enjoyed the turtle soup and potatoes, but I found the latter to be bland and generic. We chose raspberry cheesecake for dessert. The oat-style crust is signature to this dish and was very good. After mentioning the unpleasant experience with the filet to the waiter, the maitre d offered to take that off the bill AND offered my next ribeye on the house (after I commented I would go for the ribeye next time). I had been hesitant to come back here after arguing with the waiter about the cook of my steak, but the maitre d did more to make up for it. On my second visit, the ribeyes were cooked perfectly and my experience improved greatly. We were able to snag the last lobster mac n' cheese, which was very flavorful and delicious. We opted for ice cream for dessert, half vanilla and half chocolate. Our waiter was absolutely superb and even gave us an extra scoop of ice cream. I will definitely be returning and will try to order a properly cooked filet next time. While the ribeye was great, 11 oz is still too large a portion for me.

First, some yelp reviewers just don't know so they give you a false understanding. This Ruth's is not part of the franchise. It is detached from the franchise and privately owned. In my opinion, that's what makes it heads and tails above the rest. This is by far the best steak in Baton Rouge and I have eaten at all of the major steakhouses known for steak. Plus, the service is by far the best and the owner Chris and the executive chef, Carlos go out of their way to make sure your experience is perfect. You can't go wrong getting the ribeye with a blue cheese crust on top, my favorite.

Of the larger national steakhouse franchises, Ruth's Chris is my favorite. Where, for example, Morton's is only great in their Chicago and New Orleans locations, Ruth's Chris seems to be a reliably great meal. I've been to several of their restaurants, and regard Baton Rouge to be their pinnacle location. Maybe it was the alcohol or the dynamic of the group, who knows. What distinguished Baton Rouge was also the service; always special, but particularly engaging here. In keeping with local preferences, crab meat toppings and/or sauces topped the steaks; their crab meat steak topping is an absolute treasure. Most who know Ruth's Chris steaks recognize that the copious quantities of butter, attention to proper seasoning and use of the culinary equivalent of a pottery kiln to be at the heart of their great steaks. The meat, however, starts out with a great advantage; well-marbled prime (I suspect) and properly aged. The stratosphere of great steaks isn't likely to be attained by a high-volume chain, but that standard isn't far from the Ruth's Chris grade. I enjoy their creamed spinach, mashed potato and sauteed mushroom sides as being a nice compliment to their steaks, but not good enough to stand alone.

I have been to Ruth Chris restaurants in D.C., Virginia Beach, New Orleans, and one thing that is certain is that they have quality down. From the simple fact they remember your name (hostess and servers), your cup will never be empty for over a minute (actually timed them twice), but the food is phenomenal!! From the presentation to ensuring the table was spotless between dishes. I am a fan for life. Steak, lamb chops, and sides were all done perfectly. Thanks again for a great dining experience.

Quite frankly the best steak in town. Order the center cut, no chain, medium rare, and keep the wet plate! Also for appetizer get the BBQ Shrimp minus the mashed potatoes.
Checked out this spot while in town, close to my hotel so what the hell. I felt a bit under dressed in dickey shorts and a T-shirt but the service was great and the pork chops and green beans were very good. The Chop was perfectly prepared and it had sliced green apple in a cinnamon sauce. Very good stuff. Check it out

This is my favorite steakhouse in Baton Rouge hands down. It used to be a toss up for me between this one, Flemings, & Sullivans but not anymore. My husband never thinks to make reservations so I ended up snagging us a table bar side at the prime time lunch rush on Mother's Day. Score! The kids meal was a pretty good deal: 4 oz filet with a large serving of French fries and ice cream for only 15 bucks! The fries were cold but the steaks were cooked to perfection. I hardly ever see my 9 year old son clean his plate and he did it! That speaks for itself. We had the spicy lobster and crabtini to start. Both were delicious. I had pictures of them but my 4 year old managed to delete them! That's upsetting to me as a yelper!! My husband had the turtle soup to start, which was excellent. As for our entrees, I had the sea bass and he had the garlic and blue cheese encrusted filet. I was torn between the sea bass and the yellowfin tuna. So glad I chose the sea bass as it was the best thing I've put in my mouth in a verrryyyyy long time! I've had my fair share of sea bass and no where else compares!! My husband who is an avid steak lover said he enjoyed my fish more than his steak (and he said that his steak was wonderful). The service was great . Our waitress was on top of everything and our food came out quite quickly as well. Wish I could dine there everyday!!
I agreed with everything my girlfriend stated so, I just snagged her review. So, anyway, our first visit to Ruth's Chris was nothing short of superb. Our server, Jeff, did an excellent job to make the visit even more special. My girlfriend ordered the lamb chops and I ((decided to give my salmon a rest)) had the filet. We aren't the biggest steak indulgers, but these were the best we have ever had. The meat was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection the way we requested. They have an open bar and plenty of wine, champagne, beer, and premium liquor selections. If you are looking for an unbelievable dining experience that is worth the price tag, then I strongly suggest this restaurant. We also appreciate the staff remembering our names and special occasion. We went for my birthday and after dinner, they brought out a beautiful mini cheesecake on a personalized plate with a lit candle. It was really cutesy. We will definitely go back!

This is a review of our waiter, Malcolm, as much as it is Ruth ' s Chris. Me and my wife went here for our 9th anniversary and were absolutely blown away. The waiter knew the menu like the back of his hand and could recommend off menu items that turned out to be the best thing I've ever had. I got the Cowboy Ribeye and my wife the filet. Up until now the steakhouse at the Top of the World in LV, NV was the best I had ever eaten. Ruth's Chris just crushed it. Malcolm crushed it. The whole expedience was absolutely wonderful. To top it off, Malcolm had a divine cheesecake topped with blueberries sent to our table after our meal to help us celebrate our anniversary. Malcolm just recently got back from Hollywood, so if you have the pleasure of being one of his customers, let him know he belongs here with us.

If you are looking for a steak in Baton Rouge, here's your place. Yeah, it's a chain, but its a Louisiana chain, and a damn good one too. The service here is excellent and the steaks are amazing. They have a good wine list and they will do what they can to make you leave happy. I have to recommend the turtle soup or the escargot for an appetizer and the creamed spinach for a side. Honestly, I could come here and just order the creamed spinach. It's amazingly good. But Ruth's Chris is a steakhouse, and in that aspect it excels. They use USDA Prime cuts of beef and it definitely makes a difference. Between the big three (Sullivan's, Ruth's, and Flemings), Ruth's has the best steaks by far. I also highly recommend the cheesecake.
One of the best meals I have had in quite a while. The steak was perfect, the Ahi Tuna appetizer out of this world and the chopped salad a treat. The only complaint were the Au Gratin potatoes which just had too much cheese on them - the flavor however went perfectly with the prime beef. The service was excellent and the price high (but worth it).

Oh, this place is just the best! I've been here about five times, and I've only had one bad experience (which was completely atoned for; I got a free meal :D). I'm not a salad eater, but I love to eat their salads. The Lobster Bisque here is to-die-for, and is just as good as Tavern on the Green's in NYC. I always order the Fillet, medium rare, and I am always blown away by the smell and taste of it. While I do not care for the selection of desserts here, I really enjoy the crème brulée. The sourdough bread they put on your table is the bomb, too! This Ruth's Chris comes with the highest endorsements from me!

The wife and I ate there again May 9th to Celebrate Mother's Day. We had Greg as our waiter again and the service was over the top. Turning 40 this year and I can not think of any better service from an establishment and from a waiter. Wish we could take Greg back to Houston to the Westheimer Ruth's location. Our meals: For an appetizer: Spicy Lobster! AMAZING Entrees: Filet Mignon for her. Larger Filet Mignon for me. Both Medium Rare and cooked to perfection. Sides: Asparagus with hollandaise sauce and Sweet Potato Casserole. Dessert: Creme Brûlée All was amazing! Now you HAVE to try this wine Greg Suggested. We had it during the first visit and this one as well: Smith and Hook Cabernet Sauvignon. We had 2 karafes!! Would have had more, if we hadn't ate so much. Looking to have some of it shipped to the house. So great food again, great service again, and great food memories of how service should be. I heard a waiter tell a table next to us when one of the people in the party didn't have their steak exactly how she asked, but she ate it anyway. He said they strive for excellence and if her steak wasn't exactly how she wanted it, it came off the bill. You could tell she was shocked; it was good enough to eat, just wasn't to her preference. That striving for excellence attitude is just what they do. And it is natural; they don't make it like they have to struggle to be courteous. Very Genuine. We have been to many Steak Restaurants in the Baton Rouge area and being from Texas we know our Meat! This is by far the best! Thanks for the memories and we will be back! Thanks "You Got It Greg"! You and the food made the night!

This is a very old restaurant - both in terms of the building, décor and furnishings. Virtually nothing has been changed or updated in the last 40 years including the broken wheels on the grimy carpet. Once upon a time Ruth's was my favourite steakhouse in Baton Rouge, but these past many years the quality of the food has gone down. Basically it's turning "divey." If the valet parking isn't open and you wind up having to park around back and what you see there isn't exactly appetizing. Watch out for the potholes as you precariously navigate your way to the front, especially if you're in heels.

Ruth's Chris Steak House offers the ultimate dining experience! The moment you enter the door, attentive friendly persons escort you to your table, even helping to pull in your chair and double checking if the table is set properly. I had the Rib-eye Steak, prepared to perfection, just the way I like it! Marjorie ordered the petit Filet Mignon. It was moist, delicious, almost melting in the mouth. Their T-Bone Steak and New Your Strip are very good too. Without any further details, you can be sure you'll get THE BEST STEAK in town! Ruth's Chris Steak House is more expensive than other steak restaurants especially that you pay for each side order, such as sautéed mushrooms, sweet potatoes casserole, asparagus, etc. Their fresh bread is wonderful! That is free. We just had to ask for some more, and the bread (along with some whipped butter or honey butter) was brought in less than a minute. The servers (3 of them!) constantly were checking on us. They made sure all our needs were met to perfection. The appetizer mushrooms stuffed with Crab meat was "out-of-this-world"! Our dining experience was marvelous! Definitely I recommend this place to all my friends. (Many of them are already familiar with this place and without hesitation they give the highest remarks as well.) Making reservation is highly recommended. With our advanced reservation, everything moved so smoothly. Thank you, Ruth's Chris' Staff for the memorable, wonderful dining experience!

PERFECT! Getting here at a late hour I was a bit skeptical that the service would be great (since I use to serve as well) and we where coming @1030PM (I would have been so pissed!) but we where lucky enough to have Ricky he was just so sweet and attentive his take on the wine w/my milk feed veal was on point. For my starter had Louisiana turtle soup that was pretty good but my boyfriends seafood gumbo was superb, same thing with my main course which was the veal and side of cream spinach (your eating steak you have too!) had the veal medium rare, the butteriness of the veal with a bit of spinach was just..........like god answering and telling you he exist! I mean there is no words to describe the perfection of taste once in your palate, silence that's all. For dessert (we had been searching for creme brûlée to no avail) saw the creme brûlée and absolutely had to have it was so GOOD!! Just the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Whenever your looking for a great steak, head in here with Merry hearts ask for Ricky and just enjoy your selfs. PEACE
